Tuition Fees
In the Postgraduate Programme, tuition fees are set at the amount of one thousand eight hundred euros (1800€) for each study cycle. Payment is made by the student themselves (or by a third natural or legal person on behalf of the student) into a designated account of the Research Committee (E.L.K.E.).
The payment of tuition fees is made to the Special Research Funds Account of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (A.U.Th.). Failure to meet financial obligations constitutes sufficient grounds for the withholding of the diploma or even expulsion from the Programme.
Tuition fees will be paid in two equal installments, the first upon registration and the second before the start of the third semester, into a bank account maintained for this purpose in the Special Research Funds Account of A.U.Th.
Exemption from Tuition Fees
Students may be eligible for free tuition due to economic or social criteria if they meet the excellence criterion during their first cycle of studies, which corresponds to a minimum grade of seven and a half out of ten (7.5/10). The specific terms and conditions for eligibility for free tuition in the Postgraduate Programmes are described in the applicable legislation and in the decision of the Minister of Education and Religious Affairs. The students exempted from tuition fees should not exceed thirty percent (30%) of the total number of students admitted to the Programme, and this applies to participation in only one Postgraduate Programme. If the eligible students exceed this percentage, they will be selected in ranking order starting from those with the lowest income.
The application for exemption from tuition fees must be submitted by the interested party to the School after the completion of the student selection process for the Postgraduate Program. The possibility of exemption from tuition fees is provided exclusively for attendance in one (1) Postgraduate Programme organized by higher education institutions in Greece. The Graduate Studies Regulation defines the necessary procedures for the successful completion of the eligibility for free tuition.
Scholarships
Scholarships may be awarded to graduate students based on a decision by the Programme Committee, depending on the income of the Programme. Scholarships are provided based on academic and objective criteria (such as academic performance based on the average grade of the previous semester) and must be included in the approved budget of the Programme. The terms of grant, obligations, and rights of the scholarship recipients are defined by a recommendation from the Scientific Committee and a decision by the Programme Committee.
A.U.Th. may grant reciprocal scholarships to graduate students with the obligation to support the educational process and provide auxiliary teaching work. The Postgraduate Programme defines the maximum amount of reciprocal scholarship granted per student, the maximum number of weekly working hours, and other details related to the granting of scholarships. Graduate students will be informed through an announcement from the Secretariat of the Programme.
